Kurt M. Brauer, Member, Warner, Norcross, and Judd, LLP

Kurt Brauer is a partner at Warner, Norcross, and Judd, LLP and currently serves as Co-chair of the Firm’s Economic Incentives Group. Mr. Brauer assists clients in all manner of economic development, environmental compliance and regulatory matters. He specializes in assisting clients in acquiring, managing and redeveloping brownfield properties, including negotiating redevelopment incentive packages with local and state government units and resolving complex real estate matters.
Amy Lounds, Vice-President, Michigan Department of Environmental Quality
Amy Lounds is the Unit Director of the Wetlands, Lakes and Streams Unit in the Water Resources Division of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. She supervises the wetlands, lakes and streams program to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and agreements, develop program guidance for staff and for the public, resolve highly complex and controversial technical and legal issues, and assure Michigan’s continued ability to administer the 404 permit program.
Jeremie Wilson, Treasurer, Michigan Department of Transportation
Jeremie Wilson is the Wetland Mitigation Specialist for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). Jeremie is MDOT’s statewide wetland mitigation technical resource and is responsible for the management of both MDOT’s Wetland Mitigation Banking Program and their Wetland Mitigation Project Specific Program.
Chris May, Secretary, The Nature Conservancy
Chris May is Director of Stewardship for The Nature Conservancy in Michigan. He directs state-wide natural resource management and restoration efforts, and works with partners and private landowners to develop conservation plans. Chris has been involved in research and management of natural resources for over 25 years. His past work experience includes restoration of aquatic, wetland, and upland habitats; invasive species management; prescribed fire and wildland firefighting; and use of GIS for natural resource management.
Amy Berry, Member, Michigan Department of Environmental Quality
Amy Berry is the Wetland Protection Program Policy Coordinator with the Water Resources Division in the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy with over 20 years of experience with wetland issues. She serves as a technical and regulatory resource for EGLE staff and the public, providing guidance and policy development for the best protection and management of the state’s wetland resources, including stakeholder engagement and administration of the newly formed Agricultural Assistance Program.
Peg Bostwick, Member, Association of State Wetland Managers
Peg Bostwick is recently retired from her position as the Senior Staff Policy Analyst with the Association of State Wetland Managers. Previously, she worked with wetlands and other aquatic resources for over 30 years with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, including as the Chief of the Wetlands, Lakes and Streams Unit, as a limnologist in the Inland Lake Management Program, and as the coordinator for Michigan’s state-assumed federal Section 404 wetland/dredge and fill permit program.
Matt Carmer, Member, Consumers Energy
Mr. Carmer is the Natural Resources Administrator for Consumers Energy out of Cadillac, MI. He has more than 17 years of experience in natural resources consulting specializing in wetland delineation and mitigation design, threatened and endangered species surveys, and forest/wildlife resource assessments. Prior to joining Consumers Energy, he served as a consulting biologist for several prominent ecological firms in southern Michigan. He also served as a wetland specialist for the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) where he was responsible for regulatory inspections and jurisdictional wetland and stream determinations throughout the state of Michigan.
Keith Tollenaere, Member, Golder Associates Inc.
Mr. Tollenaere is a Senior Scientist with Golder Associates in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. He has over 14 years experience in private ecological consulting.
