Dave Pavlik will present on the Great Lakes Rare Butterfly Program at John Ball Zoo. The webinar will highlight two endangered species—Mitchell’s Satyr and Poweshiek Skipperling—and the unique prairie fen wetlands they rely on for survival.
Dave will discuss the key factors driving butterfly declines and discuss the collaborative conservation efforts led by the Haddad Lab (Michigan State University) and John Ball Zoo to prevent these species from going extinct. Dave will share the early signs of success that the program has seen over the past several years.
