David Bart and Jason Fritz will present on the basics of designing a native seed mix for wetland restoration. You’ll learn how existing site conditions (plant communities, hydrology, soils, etc.), restoration goals, and potential future conditions affect species selection. You will also understand how to calculate application rates for your unique project and species list. Additional topics include nurse crops, seed installation timing, and methods.

Jason graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Marketing, but most of his native plant knowledge was acquired from 25 years of working with native species at Stantec Native Plant Nursery. He directs the nursery sales and marketing efforts, assists clients with native seed mix advice, and sources plant materials for projects. Outside of work, Jason is a tabletop RPG enthusiast and enjoys scale modeling.
