Webinar Description: This fun and interactive webinar is presented by Dr. Robert Hollister of Grand Valley State University who will provide an overview, in two sessions (July 13th and 20th), of wetland plants, focusing on the most common species occurring in various wetland plant communities in Michigan.  The first session on July 13th will discuss wetland plant identification and provide a tour of native plants at his cottage. After the first session, students will be given access to short YouTube videos produced by Dr. Hollister that focus on plant identification in a variety of wetland communities. In the second session on July 20th, Dr. Hollister will answer students’ questions and, in a Stump the Prof segment, identify plants presented by students. The webinar is only open to members of MWA. Registration on this form is for both sessions, July 13th and 20th.

Instructor: Dr. Robert Hollister, Professor at Grand Valley State University

Dr. Hollister is a professor in the Department of Biology at Grand Valley State University. Dr. Hollister is an ecologist interested in the interactions between humans and natural ecosystems. He has taught Aquatic and Wetland Plants at GVSU for over 15 years.  In addition to his interest in Michigan wetlands, he studies long-term vegetation change in northernmost Alaska.
